Being Woven

31 Days of God-Woven Moments – October 3

The Master Weaver

Our lives are but fine weavings,
that God and we prepare,
each life becomes a fabric planned,
and fashioned in his care . . .

We may not always see,
just how the weavings intertwine,
but we must trust the Master’s hand,
and follow His design.

For He can view the pattern,
upon the upper side,
while we must look from underneath,
and trust in Him to guide.

Sometimes a strand of sorrow,
is added to His plan,
and though it’s difficult for us,
we still must understand.

That it’s He who flies the shuttle,
it’s He who knows what’s best,
so we must weave in patience,
and leave to Him the rest . . .

Not till the loom is silent,
and the shuttles cease to fly,
shall God unroll the canvas,
and explain the reason why.

The dark threads are as needed,
in the Weaver’s skillful hand,
as the threads of gold and silver,
in the pattern He has planned.

I wove this poem into a blog post in 2010.  There are other versions and an added verse in the comments.  Here is the link: https://beingwoven.org/2010/10/16/the-master-weaver-a-poem-and-praise/

To my Master Weaver, I thank You for loving me so much that You continually weave my life.  The warps are the steady underpinnings of Your Love, Your Grace, Your Mercy, and the weft is Your handiwork in my life.  As each thread is placed down, I pray that I accept what You desire for me and that I will heed Your call, follow Your Voice in obedience and trust.  I am Your woven piece and I thank You, Father.  It is to You I praise and lift my hands giving You the glory.  In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.
