For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways My ways, declares the LORD.
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways
and My thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9
Oh, that I would understand and know God’s Ways for my life.
דֶּרֶךְ
derek
way, journey, habit, manner: a road (as trodden); figuratively, a course of life or mode of action, of moral character; used of men, a course of acting, approved by God; used of God, His course of acting
Reading the Bible, pondering verses, praying, listening for the voice of God, listening to His voice, may I come to know His ways as best as I am humanly able. By following the path God sets before me, the fruit, which will come, is so wonderful. As Isaiah 55 continues, I can see that where rain falls, the earth is watered. Where I walk, lifting the glory of God in my manner, portraying the image of Christ, may I touch others, provide food for thought, give insight about Christ for salvation. I never may know, but I want to walk in His ways so that God is glorified.
“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven
and do not return there but water the earth,
making it bring forth and sprout,
giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater,
so shall My word be that goes out from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose,
and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:10-11
His Word has purpose. His image and manner has purpose. God takes our obedience and walks with us into lives for His purposes, knowing just how I touch others as I walk in the way of the Lord.
“For you shall go out in joy
and be led forth in peace;
the mountains and the hills before you
shall break forth into singing,
and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress;
instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle;
and it shall make a name for the LORD,
an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.” Isaiah 55:12-13
The benefits of following the way of the Lord are enormous, filled with blessings.
Other verses remind me that the power of being a way seeker can do far more than I can in my own strength.
For I will proclaim the name of the LORD;
ascribe greatness to our God! “The Rock, His work is perfect,
for all His ways are justice.
A God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and upright is He…..” Deuteronomy 32:3-4
The LORD is righteous in all His ways
and kind in all His works. Psalm 145:17
Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and how inscrutable His ways! Romans 11:33
Righteous
Kind
Inscrutable
Higher
Just
Upright
Unsearchable
True
And they sing the song of Moses, the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying,
“Great and amazing are Your deeds,
O Lord God the Almighty!
Just and true are Your ways,
O King of the nations!” Revelation 15:3
What a mighty God I serve! LORD, guide my path. Keep my feet moving and going straight towards, through, and into the purpose which Your way serves. May I glorify You in the ways in which I go. Should I take wrong turns, please guide me back so that I may fulfill Your purposes. LORD, You are everything to me and I want to be obedient to You in all I am and all I do. May I glorify You in all ways. I pray in the beautiful Name of Jesus. Amen.

Linda, this is a good reminder for me right now. Words I needed to pull deep into my heart again. As I release this first book, I don’t want to lose my focus. It’s His book – His message. May I be His conduit and walk in obedience. Thank you for this encouragement ♥
Blessings,
Lori

I don’t like to think about where I would be in life if it were not for the compelling Truth about God offered in His Word.

I’m so thankful this is true, Linda: “The power of being a way seeker can do far more than I can in my own strength.” Isaiah 55 is one of my favorite chapters too!
