“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
Via Dolorosa
Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed in to see
The man condemned to die on Calvary
He was bleeding from a beating, there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon His head
And He bore with every step
The scorn of those who cried out for His death
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of
His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary
The blood that would cleanse the souls of all men
Made its way to the heart of Jerusalem
Down the Via Dolorosa called the way of suffering
Like a lamb came the Messiah, Christ the King
But He chose to walk that road out of His love for you and me
Down the Via Dolorosa, all the way to Calvary
Father God, thank You for loving us so very much that You sent Your One and Only Son to live amongst us, to die for us, to take the vileness, the sinfulness of us to that Cross. I am only one of many grateful children of Yours and I thank You for Your love that has never stopped flowing to me. Thank You for walking with me through this life. Thank You for raining Your grace and Your mercy upon me each and every day. And I thank You for loving me the way that I am. You created me and know what Your plans are for me, who I was created to be. Mold me and make me into just who You desire me to be. I am learning to consider it all joy as I face trials here on earth for I await the time to begin my eternal destiny, spending eternity with You. Thank You, Jesus, for loving me so much that You died on the Cross for me. I love You dearly, and pray in the beautiful and restorative Name of Jesus, my Christ. Amen.
